3D TV is the latest big thing in home gadgetry, and the mobile world is starting to catch up in the form of LG’s Optimus 3D and the HTC EVO 3D device. The HTC boasts a 4.3” screen with a 960×540 resolution, which also looks good in the normal two dimensions. The user has to be directly in front of the phone when viewing in 3D however, otherwise the image can look blurry.

The Evo 3D comes with the latest version of the Sense user interface, which includes a new customisable lock screen, allowing you quick access to your favourite applications when you unlock. Their established widget set – the HTC clock, weather and much more, are all present and correct, and the list of possible additions is endless. Audiophiles will certainly appreciate the stereo surround sound, and the onboard music application has a good EQ to further tweak the sound output. It also has an FM radio and streaming radio service called Sprint.

The mobile phone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, which is needed to support the 3D technology, including full 1080p HD video and stereoscopic capture and playback. You could then view your creations on an external screen using the HDMI output, which also doubles as a charging port. The device also contains two five-megapixel cameras on the rear with auto-focus and LED flash.

It comes preloaded with Watch, HTC’s movie and TV-show streaming service. You can download videos and watch them immediately. You’re unlikely to run out of power, as there’s a big 1,730mA battery included. All this hardware does make the Evo 3D a heavy device, weighing in at 170g!

The HTC Evo 3D is a very powerful phone and can produce stunning glasses-free 3D results. It’s one of the fastest devices on the market and is sure to produce that wow factor when seen out and about in public.
